Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

As a Payroll and Compensation & Benefits Officer, you take care of the payroll and social administration of the personnel with a Belgian contract. You are also responsible for the execution of the reward strategy in close cooperation with the CHRO in order to achieve the long term business objectives. You collaborate in this respect with the HR Business Partners and the Line Managers.

RESPONSIBILITIES & MAIN RESULT AREAS

MANAGING PAYROLL

  • You manage and maintain the employee records of the personnel with a Belgian contract.
  • You manage the time registration and performances of the respective personnel.
  • You ensure correct handling of social legislation of the respective personnel.
  • You are responsible for the correct payroll handling on a monthly basis.
  • You act as a Coordinator within the HR team for employees with a split payment.
  • You work closely together with external payroll providers and other partners.
  • You make cost, gross-net calculations and other calculations on an ad hoc basis.
  • You assist in preparing the tax declarations of non-residents and employees with a split payment.
  • You coordinate continuous improvement projects in the above areas which are dedicated to you.
  • You are point of contact for line managers and employees if they have specific questions about the payroll or social legislation.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • You assist in the design and development of the reward strategy and optimization of the international compensation and benefit policies.
  • You support reward initiatives fit to the purpose of the reward strategy.
  • You focus on harmonization on both national and international level of the compensation and benefit policies based on benchmarking.
  • You are point of contact for line managers and the employees for comp & ben related questions.

HR ADMINISTRATION

  • You take care of the required social administration of the personnel with a Belgian contract.
  • You make sure all personnel data is accurately processed in the different systems (ERP, insurances, payroll system,…)
  • You update the procedures on group level concerning the ERP system and act as an expert in this area.
  • You organize social elections in cooperation with the HR Business Partner
  • You organize the medical examinations of new and current employees on a yearly base in close cooperation with the external partner.
  • You are point of contact for all GDPR related questions.

HR ANALYTICS & REPORTING

  • You are responsible for the development of HR related data into a dashboard, such as optimization of FTE reporting
  • You manage financial reporting and overtime calculations
  • You assist in internal and external audits

KNOWLEDGE MONITORING & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

  • You maintain your knowledge about the required areas of your work such as social legislation, payroll, and reward developments.
  • You suggest continuous improvement ideas.

Your Profile

EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Social Work, Law or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience preferably as Payroll Officer
  • Experience in reward management in an international context is an asset

SKILLS

  • Excellent knowledge of the Belgian employment law
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Dutch and English, good knowledge of French
  • ICT-literate: good knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Affinity with multiple IT applications and data management.
