Aim |
Global organizations, entrepreneurs, investors, and governments have all identified blockchain as a revolutionary technology that has the potential to disrupt multiple industries. Subsequently, the course aims to familiarize students with the main bodies of knowledge that lay the foundation for blockchain technology and its key application areas. It is designed to provide a space for the cross-disciplinary exploration of domains of interest and highlights central topics of blockchain and distributed ledger technologies. The course is focused on the implications and interactions of blockchain technology in the context of the digital transformation, operation management, accounting and control systems, the prevailing tax frameworks, and the legal milieu. The course provides not only a framework for understanding blockchain technology in the context of the digital age and organizational settings but also a language to communicate its dynamic characteristics and interdependencies.

Course content |
The course underscores breadth and cross-fertilization. It is designed as a sequence of 10 two-hour sessions, which will be led by designated supervisor-student disciplinary teams. The meetings are designed in a research seminar format that includes guided discussions, mini-workshops, guest speakers, and extensive class presentations. The seminar emphasizes constructive discussion aiming toward helping students to design state of the art research that builds on and extends the related current body of knowledge.
