(NL) Area Sales Manager

We are looking for an Area Sales Manager (ASM) in the region Europe. Are you stimulated by new challenges, are you pro-active and always ready to grasp new opportunities? Join Meyn as an Area Sales Manager and accept the challenge. 

As Area Sales Manager you are responsible for all sales and service sales activitities within a part of Europe. You will identify revenue opportunities in target accounts, develop sales plans, and execute to close revenue. Together with our customers you will be searching for opportunities to  find the best answers to their questions and challengers in chicken processing by offering smart solutions and services

You will be based in our head office in Oostzaan, but intensive client contact and traveling will be required (up to 50% percent)  

Key responsibilities:
  • Meet or exceed revenue quota objectives in assigned territory for products and services
  • Analysis of the clients profitability so as to implement appropriate sales actions
  • Leverage partner relationships to execute on Meyn’s sales strategy and to accelerate achievement of revenue.
  • Making prospecting a part of the regular routine ensuring that new prospects are being added to the pipeline on a consistent basis
  • Managing the entire sales process which will result in an order transfer to the assigned Project Manager. 
  • Continuously learning about new products and improving selling skills. The ASM will be  required to attend training events throughout the year.
  • Maintaining accounts receivables in compliance with objectives
  • Preparing written presentations and reports.
  • Defining and executing territory sales plans.
  • Develop positive relationships with other employees in Marketing, Product Support, Global Services, Finance, Engineering and other departments as needed
  • Market analysis and analysis of competitors’ situation.
  • Accurately forecasts annual, quarterly and monthly revenue streams.
  • Sales of emerging products and wall-to-wall sales.
  • Proper use and level of sales support.
  • Management of expenses of the area according to budget.


Bachelor's degree technical of commercial. 

List years of experience:

Usually requires 5 to 10 years of capital sales experience.

Specific skill set:
  • Excellent knowledge of company's propositions, pricing practices, and selling skills.
  • Effective management skills
  • Excellent time management, communications, decision making, human relations, presentation and organization skills.
  • Professional appearance and presentation required;
  • Verbal and written English fluently and preferbably one other foreign language;
  • Good financial understanding;
  • Familiarity with credit control & sales forecasting/planning;
Willingness to travel:

Up to 50%
