(NL) Product Manager

We are looking for a Product Manager Slaughtering to join our innovation team. As a Product Manager you are responsible for managing a product portfolio throughout its lifecycle and leading new products and updates through our New Product Introduction (NPI) process. Overall, the Product Manager drives the volume and the profitability of the assigned Product Portfolio throughout the product lifecycle.


Key responsibilities:

  • You identify new product ideas/opportunities by analyzing the market, customers' needs, and requests and competitors and you can translate them into a business case;
  • You initiate, create, and maintain clear Road Maps concerning your Product Portfolio;
  • You create support from Innovation, Manufacturing and Sales colleagues and can present a solid business case to the Management Team;
  • During NPI projects you will follow the NPI process via the different stage gates and have insight about the budget, planning and potential of the product;
  • You analyze the NPI process/project and identify possible risks and opportunities ongoing;
  • In order to achieve the best new products and updates, you will have a close contact to all stakeholders during the different stages;
  • You are responsible for controlling the product budget of the existing and NPI products;
  • You are able to track performance of the NPI projects by analyzing data and numbers and presenting results to the Management Team;
  • During the product launches, you inform and provide the internal organization (sales, service, aftersales, sales support, manufacturing, project management, marketing) with a complete training / toolset to start the campaign to push sales;
  • You decide when a product needs an update or should be phased out and are able to substantiate this by numbers and figures; 
  • As a Product Manager you give third line support when and where necessary and give training when needed;
  • In order to have full overview about customers’ and market needs, you will travel internationally extensively (25-30%).

Degree:
Master degree (i.e. food technology, mechanical engineering, business management), preferably with a combination of both technical insight and commercial drive.

List years of experience:

  • At least 4 year experience within a similar Product Managers role;
  • A proven track record of managing NPI projects within a production environment;
  • Good knowledge of NPI and modern production processes and quality management systems within the Business to business (food) industry;

Specific skill set:

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), and fluency in Dutch and English;
  • Experience with and understanding the Lean principles and working methods
  • Your style of (informal) leadership will be based on clarity and consistency, strong teamwork and coaching ability and a clear human touch to managing people with the capability to motivate and mobilize them;
  • You are an energetic and dynamic person and you have an ambition for organizational and personal development;
  • You have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and are able to translate data into information;
  • Ability to work / communicate with all functions to develop good working relationships in a complex organization with many different stakeholders;
  • Comfortable working in an international business environment, including travel globally;
  • You have good planning and organizational skills and are able to prioritize tasks;
  • Personal skills: A person who knows how to connect colleagues, having a proactive and hands on mentality, and with excellent strategic skills and customer awareness and focus.
     

Willingness to travel:
25% up to 30% on a yearly basis.
